Becamex Infrastructure Development Company (Becamex IJC) listed 54.8 million shares on the HCM City Stock Exchange on Monday, making it the first company of Becamex Investment & Industrial Development Corporation to go public.
The IJC share, the 249th listed code in HCM City, closed the first session at VND36,000, up all 20 per cent – the maximum preferential trading band permitted for the first listing day, with a total of 764,420 shares changing hands worth VND27.5 billion (US$1.45 million).
Becamex IJC Company, which specialises in construction and property trading, has a charter capital of VND548.39 billion ($28.8 million), of which Becamex Investment & Industrial Development Corp holds 75 per cent stake.
Another shareholder, the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV), holds 4 per cent stake, while IPA Investment Corporation and Viet Nam Dragon Fund Ltd hold 5.93 per cent and 6.63 per cent, respectively.
Becamex IJC owns several property projects, each of which will earn an estimated profit of more than VND100 billion ($5.3 million). They include the VND2.5 trillion- ($131.6 million-) valued Becamex City Centre, which is due to be completed in 2015; and the Sunflower Villas Complex, which has an investment of VND1.1 trillion ($57.9 million) and is due to be completed in 2012.
