Both bourses made a spectacular return during August 6
trading session, as the VN-Index rose 7.19 points to close at 437.45
after steady losses in early August.


More than 15.8 million shares worth over 493.34 billion VND were traded during the session.


The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange saw 103 gainers,
45 losers, and 12 codes remain unchanged. The bourse benefited from
strong increases of blue chips such as Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) with an
increase of 1,500 VND to close at 56,500 VND, FPT up 1,500 VND to close
at 66,500 VND per share and Hoa Phat (HPG) up 1,500 VND to close at
56,000 VND.


In Hanoi , the HASTC-Index also made a return after
four consecutive sessions of losses, with an increase of 1.18 points or
0.88 percent to close at 134.71 points.


A volume of 11.3 million shares changed hands at a total cost of 357 billion VND.


The bourse saw 70 winners, 60 losers, and 11 codes
remain unchanged and five were inactive. Foreign investors were net
sellers on August 6, selling 463,700 valued at 11.33 billion VND and
they also purchased 43,500 shares worth 1.8 billion VND.
