On Jan. 13, positive trading on local stock exchanges helped the VN-Index in HCM City gain for the third day – by 1.19 per cent to 484.12.


About 181 of 283 listed stocks gained points. Hamico Mineral Company (KSH) increased the most, VND1,800. It was followed by Construction Company No.5 (SC5), up VND1,700; Sao Vang Rubber (SRC), up VND1,500; House Viet Nam Company (NVN) and property trader Duc Long Gia Lai Company (DLG), each up VND1,300.
Finance stocks, including VietinBank (CTG), Eximbank (EIB), Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), PetroVietnam Finance (PVF) and Sai Gon Securities Inc (SSI), were among blue-chip stocks to rally.
Stocks that declined the most were Water Supply Sewerage Construction and Investment (VSI), VND800; And Viet Thang Aquafeed (VTF), VND700.
Trading volume fell by half from Wednesday's session. About 29 million shares changed hands, generating turnover of VND744.1 billion (US$35.4 million).
On the Ha Noi market, the HNX-Index continued rallying, rising 1.05 per cent to 107.42 points. Advancers, at 214, were about four times higher than decliners.
Volume was low at 21.1 million shares worth a total of VND384.8 billion ($18.3 million).
Dzi An Manufacturing (DZM) saw the highest increase in price, up VND1,900; Followed by Vinare Company (VNR), up VND1,700; Bien Hoa Packaging (SVI), up VND1,600; Dong A Paint Company (HDA) and Mineral and Mechanical Company (MIM), each up VND1,400.
