The VN-Index fell by 3.66 percent to 288.69 points -
the lowest level over the past three years, during the trading session
on Dec. 8 at the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.


Total trading volume stood at 10.3 million shares,
valued at 233.87 billion VND, a slight change compared with 10.2
million shares and 240 billion VND at the previous session.


The market saw 11 shares gain in price, 140 decline in value, and 17 remained unchanged.


Among the most heavily-traded shares were Sacombank
(STB), Saigon Securities Inc (SSI), Phu My Fertiliser (DPM), FPT, Hoa
Phat Group (HPG), and PetroVietnam Finance (PVF).


At the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre, almost shares
were also losing, with the total trading volume standing at 6.4 million
shares, valued at 136.5 billion VND.


The HASTC Index continued to lose 3.43 points or 3.31
percent to close at 100.11, with 16 codes gaining , 126 declining and
five unchanged among the total of 163 shares and fund certificates
listed on the Hanoi bourse.
