The stock market recovered on the first session of this week with gains reported for both indexes.


The string of six consecutive declines of both the
southern and northern bourse stopped today as the VN-Index advanced by
1.2% while the HASTC-Index had a bigger gain of 2.66%.


Ending the first phase of today's session at the Ho
Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index saw a decline of 3.23 points
or 0,75%.


However, the situation was different in the remaining
two phases when prices of many stocks recovered, pulling the VN-Index
up. The benchmark had 5.18 points more as the market closed today at
434.64.


Total market trading volume today was 16.6 million
units worth VND 540 billion, with 14.5 million of these traded via
order matching for VND 398 billion.


The southern bourse today welcomed a new stock CNT of
Materials Trading and Construction Joint Stock Company, bringing the
total listed stocks on the bourse to 159.


There were reportedly 87 gainers against 68 losers and four remained unchanged.


The HASTC-Index of the northern bourse closed today at
144.59, up 3.74 points. Trading volume was over 9.4 million units worth
VND 305 billion. The bourse today also welcomed one more listed member,
MMC of Mangan Mineral Joint Stock Company which listed 1.2 million
shares on the bourse, bringing the total of listed companies on the
bourse to 146.
